How to properly plan a child: Stages

The future health of the child is largely determined by how healthy his parents were during conception. This is very important, since many diseases can affect the intrauterine development of the child. That is why the planning of the child should begin with a full examination of the health status of future parents.

Stages of planning a child

At the Family Planning Center, you will be consulted about which tests must be taken first. As a rule, the examination begins with the delivery of general blood and urine tests, fluorography.

Next, you should be checked for the presence of urogenital infections in the body, such as chlamydia, herpes. During pregnancy, a woman’s immunity decreases, which makes her more susceptible to attack various viruses. Therefore, it is very important to identify and cure possible infections in parents before conception, since taking drugs during pregnancy can negatively affect the development of the fetus.

At the third stage of the examination, genetics should be visited. This is relevant for those couples in which spouses have diseases transmitted by hereditary. Also, a trip to this doctor is necessary for women over 35 years old and men in 50 years. In addition, the genetics consultation will not be superfluous if the woman had a miscarriage or if the environmental situation is not very favorable.

In addition, the health of the fetus and women during pregnancy largely depends on the level of hemoglobin in the blood of the future mother. Therefore, at the stage of pregnancy planning, it is important to determine whether a woman suffers anemia. If the disease is established, the doctor will recommend drinking vitamins to increase the content of iron in the body or advise the appropriate diet (in this case, products such as grenades, carrots, meat should be included in the daily diet).

It must be remembered that hormonal background has a great influence on the conception and bearing of the fetus. Accordingly, a visit to an endocrinologist should include a survey program.

For the expectant mother, a trip to the dentist will not be superfluous, since caries is a source of infection in the body.

The main dangers for the body of a pregnant woman

The great danger for a pregnant woman and her fetus is different viruses – rubella, hepatitis B. Therefore, planning a child should begin with the implementation of all necessary vaccinations.

Among other things, taking drugs before and in time of pregnancy is able to harm the fetus. If it is impossible to postpone drugs due to the disease, the child’s planning must be transferred until a complete recovery.

Factors that negatively affect the conception and bearing of the fetus primarily include smoking, alcohol intake, excessive consumption of coffee or strong tea. Also, at the stage of planning a child, you should avoid visiting a sauna and heavy physical exertion.

Meanwhile, proper nutrition, taking vitamins, lack of stress, timely rest, sports and fresh air will help to conceive a healthy baby.
